What we check for
A direct Polish line
A parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent who held Polish citizenship. Citizenship passes down the direct line, so this is the first thing we confirm.
A departure after 1920
Poland's citizenship law took effect in 1920. Families who left in 1920 or later usually kept their citizenship, and it may have passed all the way to you.
Confirmation recognizes citizenship you already hold by descent. The process runs remotely through a proxy in Poland, with no language test and no oath, and you keep your US citizenship.
